Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kelly Myers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zapi Zap!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zap drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Zap stands up over Myers, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Zap is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zap looking to pass the guard.
Myers is trying to keep Zap in close.
Zap showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Myers working a defensive guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Myers looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Zap postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zap keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Myers's head.
Myers wants to sweep here but Zap controlling him for the moment.
Zap looking to pass the guard.
Zap would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Zap is working Myers over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Zap wants to get up but he can't break Myers's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Myers really is a fat lump.
Zap throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Zap slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Zap cracks Myers with a solid left hand.

Zap sitting in guard here, content to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Myers wants to stand but Zap is controlling the position.
Myers controls Zap momentarily but Zap frees himself.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Zap fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Myers sprawls well initially but Zap persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Myers wants to get back to full guard.
Zap has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Zap is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Zap is thwarting Myers's attempts to control the position.
Zap takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nice strikes from Zap there.
Zap lands strikes from half guard.
Zap lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Myers wants to improve his position but Zap is controlling well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Zap content to control rather than advance.
Myers is looking to escape.
Myers is trying to control but can't.
Zap lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Zap keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Zap is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Myers doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Zap.
Myers wants to get back to full guard.
Zap is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zapi Zap dominated that round.
That's time! Myers's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Myers misses with an uppercut.

Zap drives through with a takedown into guard.
Myers is looking to stand back up but Zap counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Myers.
Myers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Well, if Zap is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Zap working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Myers is looking for a sweep. Zap is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Myers is in trouble now - Zap has advanced to mount!
Zap landing punches.

Zap has isolated one of Myers's arms. Myers looking to fight him off but Zap twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
