The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coleman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kilmers as he jumps to the side.

It looks like Maurice Kilmers has been cut.

Coleman had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kilmers is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Coleman Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kilmers's back instead.
Coleman is looking to control Kilmers but Kilmers is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Kilmers tries to escape but Coleman has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Coleman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kilmers swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Coleman stays in close to Kilmers's body and controls the position.
Kilmers looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Coleman puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Coleman throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Coleman is working for a kimura but Kilmers is defending it quite comfortably.
Coleman moves nicely into side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Coleman tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Kilmers manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Coleman is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kilmers!

Coleman is going olschool here, as he tries to force Kilmers to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kilmers shrugs it off.

Coleman throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Kilmers tries to reverse the position but Coleman maintains control.
Kilmers holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Coleman tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Coleman looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Kilmers is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kilmers tries to hold on but Coleman pushes him away.

Kilmers defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Coleman.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kilmers tries to control Coleman's head but Coleman pushes him back down and moves quickly to lock up an arm here - he's swung around for an armbar! Will he get it??? Yes! Kilmers is tapping out! Lovely Jiu Jitsu there!
