Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Norman Bates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Norman Bates!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricardo Jones!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates shoots for a takedown but Jones saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Jones wants to control from the top but Bates keeps moving.
Jones tries to stand but Bates is controlling from the bottom.
Bates controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.
Jones trying to control but Bates is working from the bottom.
Jones is stalling in the full guard.
Bates controlling Jones's posture.

Bates is looking for a triangle but Jones pushes his legs off easily.

Bates is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bates working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Jones throws a big right hand that misses.
Bates is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jones is pushing down on Bates's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bates is fighting to maintain full guard but Jones has managed to sneak the leg through.
Jones trying to control from half guard but Bates is working away.
Jones is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Jones might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bates kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Jones stands up out of the half guard.
Bates tries for a takedown but Jones circles away easily
letting Jones counter with a right hand.
Bates is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Bates swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Jones closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Bates keeps control of Jones as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Jones lands a hook to the side of the head.

Jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Jones scores with a takedown into Bates's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Bates is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bates bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.
Jones looking to control.

Bates drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jones looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jones looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jones!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bates prevents Jones from moving into mount.

Jones stands up and beckons Bates to his feet.
Bates walks into a stiff left hand from Jones.
Jones lands with a shot to the body.
Jones lands a jab to the nose.
Danga de danga de dang - Jones scores with a four punch combination!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jones shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jones showed some decent athleticism there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jones works his way into side control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
A lull in the action here.
Bates is not content to let Jones control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bates will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ricardo Jones dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Jones connects with a right hand. Bates shakes it off.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jones, as that shot connected.
Jones connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Bates with a poor takedown
and Jones counters with a straight right hand.
Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Jones! Bates is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ricardo Jones!
