Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Monroe Chen (ranked 24444 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zac Kane (ranked 6289 p4p, 0 weight class). Zac Kane has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Monroe Chen's chin.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kane closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Chen is trying to improve his position.
Chen defending against the ground and pound.
Kane is looking to take a break and control but Chen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Chen wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Kane should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kane is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Chen has managed to free his arm - good work.
Chen is refusing to be controlled, as Kane sits in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Chen has closed the distance and engaged Kane in a clinch.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Chen wants to break free but Kane has control.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Kane.
Kane lands with a short shot to the head.

Kane ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kane no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Chen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Chen postures up in Kane's guard and throws a big left but Kane blocks it.
Kane is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kane escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kane is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Kane scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Kane moves into the clinch.
Chen stalling.

Chen breaks the clinch.
Kane lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Kane clinches up against the cage.

Kane breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kane swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Zac Kane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kane pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kane drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Chen gets back to half guard.

Chen is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chen wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Kane.
Kane prevents Chen from getting the reversal.
Chen really wants to buck Kane off and get back to his feet.
Chen regains half guard.
Chen won't allow Kane to pass to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zac Kane dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kane has Chen up against the cage in a clinch.

Chen has Kane pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Chen pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kane tumbling to the mat - Chen dives into Kane's guard.
Chen stands up over Kane, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Zac Kane has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kane controls Chen momentarily but Chen frees himself.

Chen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kane looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kane looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kane!

Kane stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Kane drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Kane wants to stand and escape but instead Chen has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Kane manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chen manages to get himself to full guard.

Kane gets to his feet - Chen follows without any prompting.

Kane shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Chen napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Chen bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Kane closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kane lands in his opponent's guard.

Chen is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Kane is trying to trip Chen. He has hold of a leg but Chen is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Kane persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kane accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Monroe Chen will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Kane shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kane was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Chen bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Chen tries to keep at a distance but Kane has taken the fight into the clinch.

Kane escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A nice inside leg kick there by Kane. That's going to slow Chen down.

Kane feints and as Chen raises his hands in defense, Kane changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Chen is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Kane dives into side control.
Chen is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Kane wants to control but Chen is keeping him busy.

Kane tries to free his leg and advance position but Chen is retaining full guard.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Kane gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Kane is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kane breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Zac Kane.
Well Kane has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
