Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sean Avery (ranked 5545 p4p, 587 weight class) and Kane Ardal (ranked 3644 p4p, 441 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sean Avery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kane Ardal!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avery fails in his attempt to clinch.
Ardal throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Avery.


It looks like Sean Avery has been cut.
Ardal throws a sloppy head kick and Avery moves out of range easily.
Ardal misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Avery swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Avery swings for the body but Ardal moves out of range.
Avery blocks a head kick by Ardal.
Avery looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Avery lands with an overhand left.
Avery takes a kick to the side of the head.
Ardal takes one on the button.
Avery fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ardal unleashes a big counter combination but Avery bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Ardal misses with a two punch combination.
Avery changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
A chopping leg kick lands by Avery.
Ardal has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Avery scores with a hook to the body. Ardal takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Avery cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

A head punch on the inside from Avery fails to land.

Avery wants the takedown. Ardal is fighting it off but Avery persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Ardal's guard against the cage.

Avery feints and as Ardal raises his hands in defense, Avery changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Avery thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ardal has his foot on Avery's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Avery works his way back into a safe position though.

Avery is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ardal can do to turn this around?

Jab, jab by Ardal - just one landing.
Avery tries to clinch there but Ardal circles away.
Avery scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Avery walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Avery is trying to trip Ardal. He has hold of a leg but Ardal is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Avery persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Avery has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A helpless look comes across Ardal 's face. He knows he's trapped as Avery lands a series of unanswered strikes. The ref steps in to stop the fight and this one is in the books!

Our winner, Sean Avery, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
