Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jason Park (ranked 5179 p4p, 0 weight class) and Future Champion (ranked 8108 p4p, 0 weight class). Park comes to the cage accompanied by Deadline. Future Champion told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Future Champion!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Damien Edna and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Park throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Champion's head.
Park misses with a two punch combination.
Park fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Park throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Champion shoots in but Park avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Park misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Park looks to land a combination but Champion avoids it well.
Park avoids a punch combination nicely.
Park went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Park moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Park tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Champion throws a series of punches but Park moves out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Champion changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Park tries to avoid it but Champion manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Park to the ground. Park escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Park throws a big counter combination but Champion scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Jason Park has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Future Champion.
Champion takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Champion goes for a double leg but Park avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Park continues to drive forward.

Champion drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Park gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Park tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Park tries to circle away but Champion has him pinned against the cage.

Park is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Champion can't fight it off and eventually Park manages to take the fight to the floor. Champion looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Park is breathing heavily.

Park stands and steps away. Champion gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Champion shoots in for a takedown but Park shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Park throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Champion moves in looking to clinch but Park pushes him off.

Park throws a push kick but Champion slaps the foot to one side.
A little jabbing left from Champion on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Champion throws a combination. Park tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Champion tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Park swivels and escapes.

Park throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Champion tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Park is in Champion's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Champion really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Park. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Champion is looking to regain half guard here but Park keeps moving and retains side control.

Park decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Park's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Park is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Champion is just riding it out for now. Park eventually gives up the hold.
