Ramirez has chosen Whatever It Takes as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pedro Franco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Oliver Ramirez!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Franco was well out of range. Poor timing from Ramirez.
Ramirez swats away the attempt to clinch by Franco.
Ramirez stuns Franco with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Franco tries to clinch but Ramirez is having none of it.
Ramirez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Franco defends well and Ramirez ends up having to push Franco into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Ramirez lands a nice hook to Franco's body. Franco takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Franco ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Ramirez keeps the fight on the outside.
Franco tries to clinch there but Ramirez circles away.

Ramirez closes the distance and pushes Franco back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Franco with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Ramirez blocking some punches.
Franco really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Franco misses with a hook from the clinch.
Franco swings wildly with an uppercut but Ramirez uses good head movement to avoid it.
Franco misses with the head strike.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Franco lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Ramirez backwards.
Franco with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Ramirez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ramirez scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Pedro Franco has been cut.
Franco looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Franco fails in his attempt to clinch.
Oliver Ramirez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ramirez circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ramirez lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Franco tries to close the distance and clinch but Ramirez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Ramirez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Franco did well to prevent Ramirez getting side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Franco pushes Ramirez off looking to stand but Ramirez dives back in and keeps control.

Ramirez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Franco has managed to free his arm - good work.

Ramirez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Franco is just riding it out for now. Ramirez eventually gives up the hold.
Franco wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Ramirez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Ramirez is looking for a kimura but Franco is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ramirez to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ramirez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Ramirez in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Franco tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Ramirez!
