Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Guy Barron (ranked 24866 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Pill (ranked 6250 p4p, 0 weight class). James Pill will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Guy Barron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Pill!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pill bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Barron is not content to let Pill control the position.
Pill lands a nice forearm strike.
Pill tries to advance to mount but Barron instead regains half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barron keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pill slows the pace down in half guard.
Barron is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Pill missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Pill is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Barron has managed to free his arm - good work.
Barron moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pill tries to free his leg and advance position but Barron is retaining full guard.

Barron could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Pill is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Pill clinches up with Barron and pushes him back against the cage.

Pill breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Pill engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
James Pill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pill slaps away a takedown attempt from Barron, before circling back to the center of the mat.
As Barron backs off Pill throws a huge counter combo but Barron manages to avoid it all.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Pill throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barron gets caught napping as Pill dives in and scores a takedown. Barron manages to retain guard.

Pill is looking to pass into half guard but Barron pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Barron is in guard.

Barron makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Barron gets to his feet - Pill follows without any prompting.

Pill changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Barron looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Barron might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Pill tries to advance to mount but can't.
Barron is trying to buck Pill off.

Pill tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pill has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Barron is pushing Pill's head away, looking to escape. Pill manages to hold on to the position though.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Barron regains half guard.
Barron is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pill's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pill's back!

Pill is trying to get back to his feet but Barron has full control of the position and if anything, Pill has just worked his way into a worse spot.

That's time! Barron's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Pill shoots in and bounces Barron off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Barron pushes Pill off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Barron fails with the takedown.
Pill throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Pill manages to break the clinch.

Pill shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pill showed some decent athleticism there.
Guy Barron overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Barron is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Pill is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Barron manages to get to full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Barron looking for a sweep. Not yet Barron, not yet.
Pill advances to half guard.
Barron is trying to control but can't.
Pill is trying to control the action in half guard but Barron is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Pill closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Barron did well to prevent Pill getting side control.
Pill takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Barron is trying to stand up here but Pill is controlling him well.

It looks like Guy Barron has been cut.

Barron gets caught flat footed, as Pill shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

James Pill comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pill has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In his post fight interview, James Pill started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
