Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rhakesh Alhazred (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hughes has chosen Country Boy Can Survive as his entrance music. Matt Hughes told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Alhazred goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Alhazred cracks a nice hook into Hughes's ribs.
Hughes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alhazred is fending him off so far but Hughes persists. Nope, Alhazred circles away and we're back to standing.
Alhazred throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Alhazred lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Hughes is rocked!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alhazred fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hughes.
Alhazred lands with a right and another and another! Hughes is in big trouble! Alhazred lands again and this time it's lights out for Hughes! A quality knockout there for Alhazred.
