Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Robbie Perkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Antonio Cayama!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Ren Mimura and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cayama shoots in and bounces Perkins off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Cayama trying to control but Perkins is working from the bottom.

Perkins has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cayama can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Perkins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cayama's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Perkins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cayama tries to free his leg and advance position but Perkins is retaining full guard.
Perkins is pulling down on Cayama's head to control his posture.

Cayama would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Perkins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cayama tries to stand but can't do so whilst Perkins controls his leg.
Perkins has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cayama is working away from the top position though.

Perkins is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cayama is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Cayama can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Perkins is looking to escape.
Perkins tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Cayama wants to control the pace but Perkins is squirming around nicely.
Perkins tries to hold on but Cayama pushes him away.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Perkins sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Perkins wants to get back to full guard.
Cayama wants to stand up but Perkins is controlling the position.
Cayama content to control rather than advance.
Perkins moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Perkins looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Perkins wants to get back to his feet but Cayama is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Cayama must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Perkins is looking to escape.
Perkins tries to roll over but Cayama keeps him under control.

Cayama wants to lay and pray for a moment but Perkins keeps working.
Perkins wants to improve his position but Cayama is controlling well.
Perkins is holding on to half guard well.
Cayama is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Perkins tries to break the clinch but Cayama is controlling the position.
Perkins is trying to push Cayama away but Cayama has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Cayama has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Perkins gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cayama to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Cayama has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Perkins to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Cayama is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Perkins pulls down on the head and he's put Cayama to sleep! This one is all over!
