The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salladi fails to land with a series of punches.
Shaw is looking for a counter combo.
Salladi scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Shaw doesn't seem bothered though.
Salladi stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Salladi throws a head kick that misses.
As Salladi tries to get set, Shaw tries to push him back and clinch up but Salladi manages to avoid the attempt.
Salladi lands with a hook. Shaw tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Salladi throws a head kick but Shaw moves out of range.
Shaw checks the leg kick nicely there.

Shaw shoots in and bounces Salladi off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Salladi pulls Shaw in close to prevent any damage.
Salladi wants to sweep but no luck.
Salladi is adopting a defensive guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shaw with a flurry of punches that miss.
Salladi wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Shaw knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Salladi on the ground.
Shaw not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Salladi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shaw's guard.

Salladi's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Salladi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Shaw is trying to keep Salladi in close.

Salladi frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Salladi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Shaw can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
