The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearson wants to clinch up but Richards keeps it at a distance.

Richards decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Richards is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pearson is just riding it out for now. Richards eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Pearson tries to roll over but Richards keeps him under control.

Richards is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Richards tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Richards has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
