Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Tyson (ranked 4078 p4p, 495 weight class) and James Pike (ranked 4932 p4p, 565 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pike needs to keep his hands up - Tyson had a free shot at his head there.
The fighters circling - Tyson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Tyson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Pike displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tyson throws out the jab.
Tyson takes a swing at Pike's ribcage but misses.
Pike throws a leg kick but Tyson sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Tyson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
As Tyson backs off Pike throws a huge counter combo but Tyson manages to avoid it all.

Pike rushes Tyson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Tyson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Pike darts in and clinches Tyson up against the cage.

Tyson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pike shoots in for a takedown but Tyson shows good takedown defense.

Tyson tries to keep at a distance but Pike has taken the fight into the clinch.
Pike looking to throw knees to the head but Tyson is blocking nicely.

Tyson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tyson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Pike tries to clinch there but Tyson circles away.
Tyson throws a big counter combination but Pike scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Pike throws a half hearted mid kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tyson throws out a loose jab but Pike uses good head movement to avoid it.
Pike misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Tyson blocks a head kick by Pike.
Tyson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Pike feints the counter takedown.

Tyson drops Pike with a beautiful combination! Pike stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Tyson is looking for the KO!

Pike is rocked!

It looks like James Pike has been cut.
Tyson grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Pike takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Tyson cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

Frank Tyson decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
