Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sean Harvey (ranked 407 p4p, 55 weight class) and Sjaardsen Hooj (ranked 478 p4p, 68 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harvey lands with an uppercut that bounces Hooj off the cage and back into range.

Hooj's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Harvey misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hooj.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hooj! But no joy.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Harvey pivots, looking for a leg kick but Hooj is out of range and Harvey settles back down.

and Harvey takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hooj cracks Harvey with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Harvey tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Hooj pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Harvey is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
