The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Andre changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Winkle looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Andre controls the position.
Winkle is trying to improve his position.
You can see the frustration on Winkle's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Winkle is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Andre is staying active.
Andre is looking to take a break and control but Winkle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Winkle tries to buck Andre off but Andre is having none of it.
Andre controlling from side mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Andre manages to pull guard.

Andre is looking for a triangle but Winkle pushes his legs off easily.
Winkle trying to move into half guard but instead Andre has managed to sweep!

Winkle is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Andre wants to improve his position but Winkle is controlling well.
Andre slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Andre knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Winkle on the ground.

Winkle is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Winkle drops back looking for a leg! Andre is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Andre manages to kick Winkle off! Winkle jumps back into Andre's guard.
Winkle postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Andre is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Winkle is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Andre has his foot on Winkle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Winkle works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Winkle stands up and waves to Andre to follow him.
Andre stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Andre wants it to stay on the feet.

and Andre counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Andre is breathing heavily.
Winkle wants to sweep but no luck.

Andre is sitting in close to Winkle's body. Winkle has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Andre is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Andre is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Winkle.
