Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shape Shifter (ranked 944 p4p, 133 weight class) and Joey Kocur (ranked 1712 p4p, 230 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Shape Shifter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
29 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joey Kocur!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kocur is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shifter.
Shifter changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Shifter is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Shifter moves into range and clinches up with Kocur.
Shifter managing to block the knees to the body from Kocur.
Shifter has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kocur is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kocur.

Shifter has picked Kocur up - he's going for a ride! Shifter dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shifter is looking to work some ground and pound but Kocur has wrist control.
Shifter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kocur swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Shifter postures up in Kocur's guard and throws a big left but Kocur blocks it.
Shifter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kocur works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Shifter looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Shifter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kocur with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Shifter seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Shifter drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kocur manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Shifter has Kocur in his guard.

That's time! Shifter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Kocur misses with a left hand
and Shifter counters with a leg kick.
Kocur pivots, looking for a leg kick but Shifter is out of range and Kocur settles back down.
A telegraphed right hand from Kocur misses the target.
Kocur circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kocur thows a left - swing and a miss!
A jab from Kocur does it's job there.
Kocur walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Shifter checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Shifter shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Shifter chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kocur can pounce on him.
Shifter keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kocur.
Shifter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kocur can do to turn this around?

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kocur, right into the meat.
Shifter moves in looking to clinch but Kocur pushes him off.
Kocur jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Shifter feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Kocur is looking to score with low kicks.
Shifter darts in and clinches Kocur up against the cage.
Kocur missing with knees to the body.

Shifter can't get the takedown.

Shifter tries to pull guard but Kocur holds him up against the cage and eventually Shifter drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shape Shifter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kocur not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Shifter looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Kocur puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Shape Shifter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Shifter can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kocur controls the pace.
Shifter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kocur can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kocur wants to pass the guard but Shifter is keeping the position.

Kocur got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shifter has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kocur has managed to get both his arms back between Shifter's legs - danger averted.
