Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Floyd Carr (ranked 7981 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Winters (ranked 8672 p4p, 0 weight class). John Winters looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Floyd Carr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Winters!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carr gets caught flat footed, as Winters shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Winters looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Carr wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Winters has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Carr is proving hard to escape from.
Carr seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Winters trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Carr wants to get back to his feet but Winters is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Winters throws a big right hand that misses.
Carr is pulling down on Winters's head to control his posture.
Carr will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Carr throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Winters avoids a wild elbow strike from Carr.

Carr has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Winters uses from the top position.
Winters has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Carr is proving hard to escape from.
Carr pulls Winters in close to his closed guard and prevents Winters from doing any damage or advancing position.
Carr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Winters is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Carr wants to stand but Winters is controlling the position.
Carr seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Winters won't allow Carr to get back to his feet.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Carr looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Winters passes into half guard.
Winters wants to control but Carr is keeping him busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carr looks like he's trying to stand up.
Winters is thwarting Carr's attempts to control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Carr tries to score a power double leg takedown but Winters sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carr somewhat.
Winters flicks out a counter leg kick but Carr steps away.
Winters keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Carr rushes Winters and presses him up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Carr pulls guard effortlessly.
Carr wants to stand but Winters is controlling the position.
Carr pulls Winters in close to his closed guard and prevents Winters from doing any damage or advancing position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Floyd Carr will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Winters feints and as Carr raises his hands in defense, Winters changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Carr manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Winters manages to get himself to full guard.

Carr wants to control from the top but Winters keeps moving.
Carr has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Winters is proving hard to escape from.
Carr slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carr decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carr clinches.
Winters is breathing heavily.
Carr tries to circle away but Winters has him pinned against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carr wants to take the fight to the mat but Winters manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Winters is working Carr over against the cage.
The referee calls for Carr to work.
We've been informed that Winters has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Carr throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Carr wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Winters pulls guard effortlessly.
Carr trying to stand up but can't free himself from Winters's guard.
Carr really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Carr thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Carr seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Carr working some strikes from top position.

Winters has a closed guard, preventing Carr from standing up.
Carr trying to control the position from guard on top but Winters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Carr clinches with his opponent.

Carr pulls guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Winters trying to control but Carr is working from the bottom.
Winters wants to pass the guard but Carr is keeping the position.
Carr is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Winters is controlling him.
Winters is fighting to break Carr's control of his arms but Carr is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Carr is looking to cinch up a triangle. Winters throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Carr's body to avoid the submission. Carr has instead reached around Winters's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Carr arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Floyd Carr!
