Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcel Trujillo (ranked 6840 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Hurst (ranked 6163 p4p, 0 weight class). Peter Hurst has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Marcel Trujillo's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcel Trujillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Hurst!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hurst rushes Trujillo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Hurst manages to break the clinch.
Hurst tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Trujillo defends well and Hurst ends up having to push Trujillo into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Trujillo seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Hurst throws a head kick that misses

and Trujillo counters with a single leg into guard. Hurst didn't expect that.

Hurst is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Trujillo presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Hurst has picked Trujillo up - he's going for a ride! Hurst dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hurst remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Hurst shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Trujillo as he avoids it easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Trujillo stands up over Hurst, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Hurst utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Trujillo makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Peter Hurst is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Hurst is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Trujillo is controlling him.
