PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Sinclair (ranked 24063 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Konopka (ranked 24195 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 9 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frank Sinclair!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pete Konopka!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sinclair pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Konopka takes the fight into the clinch.

Konopka jumps guard and drags Sinclair to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Sinclair stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Konopka swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Konopka scrambles and gets back to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Konopka enables Sinclair to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Konopka manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Konopka kicks Sinclair off and gets to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sinclair moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Sinclair throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pete Konopka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Konopka keeps the fight on the outside.
Konopka steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Sinclair.

Konopka cracks Sinclair with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Konopka has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Sinclair to stand back up!


Sinclair is rocked!


It looks like Frank Sinclair has been cut.

Konopka gets a clinch.
Oh Sinclair is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Konopka pushes Sinclair back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sinclair prevents Konopka from breaking the clinch.
Konopka creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Sinclair's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Sinclair drops to his knees and Konopka pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pete Konopka!
Pete Konopka was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
