PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ragnar Diaz (ranked 3698 p4p, 367 weight class) and WIlliam Black (ranked 4079 p4p, 392 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ragnar Diaz!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, WIlliam Black!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diaz closes the distance and clinches.

Diaz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Black changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Diaz tries to avoid it but Black manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Diaz to the ground. Diaz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Diaz moves into the clinch.
Black is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Diaz to keep the fight standing.

Diaz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Black shoots in looking for a takedown. Diaz tries to sprawl out of it but Black keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Diaz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ragnar Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of WIlliam Black.
Black on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Black shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Diaz counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Black is rocked!

Black tries to keep at a distance but Diaz has taken the fight into the clinch.
Black is still on wobbly legs! Can Diaz finish him?
Black with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Black seems to have recovered his senses.

Diaz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Diaz works the jab nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Black looks for a takedown but Diaz sprawls well.
Black throws a low kick, looking for Diaz's leg but Diaz calmly moves out of range.

Diaz instigates a clinch.
Diaz unloads a knee to the mid-section. Black lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Black looks winded!
Diaz landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Diaz landing knees to the head.

Diaz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Diaz moves into range and clinches up with Black.
Diaz lands an elbow inside.

Diaz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Diaz connects with a nice cross there... Black is looking wobbly and Diaz recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Black to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Diaz jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ragnar Diaz!
