Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tony Duff (ranked 979 p4p, 145 weight class) and Jack Mills (ranked 1454 p4p, 198 weight class). Mills has chosen Dexter theme song as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Duff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Mills!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duff looks to score with a jab to the body but Mills is just out of range.
Mills fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Duff manages to avoid it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mills looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mills swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mills keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Duff.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mills has closed the distance and engaged Duff in a clinch.
Duff takes an elbow to the temple.
Mills creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Duff's defenses.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Duff is working for takedown but Mills is calmly controlling the position for now.

Duff blocks an elbow strike.
Duff blocks a body shot from Mills.
Duff is looking to control Mills's arms but Mills gets an underhook and turns him. Now Duff has his back to the cage.
Mills scores with a hook to the body.
Mills can't find room to land a body shot as Duff controls the action.
Mills lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Duff.
Mills comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Come on Duff - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Duff blocks the elbow strike.
Mills throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Mills slows down the pace here.

Duff misses with an elbow over the top.
Mills creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Duff's defenses.
Duff changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mills fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Duff is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.

Decent striking displayed by Duff there.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Mills clinches up against the cage.
Come on Mills - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Mills stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Mills comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Duff avoids a wild elbow strike from Mills.
Duff is trying to pull guard but Mills turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tony Duff. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Duff drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mills gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Duff's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Duff swats away the attempt to clinch by Mills.
Duff attempts a counter takedown but Mills avoids it well and moves away.
Mills tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jack Mills is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Duff misses with a body shot.
Mills is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Mills gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Duff in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Duff stops Mills from standing up.
Duff trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Duff slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Duff wants to control from the top but Mills keeps moving.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mills wants to stand up but Duff is controlling him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Mills dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Duff missing with a left hand there. Mills was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Mills lands a nice hook to Duff's body. Duff takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Duff will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mills steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Duff.

Mills walks into a straight right hand from Duff.

Mills fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Duff ducks under a wild hook from Mills.

Duff takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Duff walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Mills checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Mills misses the shot to the body.
Mills tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Duff was well out of range. Poor timing from Mills.
Mills takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Duff tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mills sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Duff somewhat.
Mills tries to counter with a clinch but Duff shakes him off and moves away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mills jabs Duff right on the nose. Duff blinks but takes it well.
Jack Mills seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Duff ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Mills thuds his right hand into Duff's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Duff closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Duff lands in his opponent's guard.
Mills is looking to stand up but Duff isn't so interested in that idea.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mills has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Duff trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Mills manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Duff manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mills manages to get himself to full guard.

Mills working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Duff.
Mills is looking to stand up but Duff isn't so interested in that idea.
Duff wants to pass the guard but Mills is keeping the position.

Mills keeping moving, preventing Duff from controlling successfully.
Duff throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mills works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Mills avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Mills can't keep his opponent in guard - Duff advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Duff is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Duff wants to control but Mills is keeping him busy.
Mills pushes Duff off looking to stand but Duff dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Mills showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

and Duff counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Duff stops Mills from standing up.
Duff trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duff stops Mills from standing up.
Duff looking to sit in guard and control but Mills gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Duff is on top in guard.

Mills keeping full guard, as Duff tries to pass.

Duff trying to control but Mills is working from the bottom.
Duff is pushing down on Mills's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mills is fighting to maintain full guard but Duff has managed to sneak the leg through.
Duff not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Duff thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mills's head.
Mills is refusing to be controlled, as Duff sits in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Duff throwing shots but Mills is blocking nicely.
Mills is not content to let Duff control the position.
Duff thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mills's head.
Duff stops Mills from getting back to his feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Mills connects with a single shot there.
Mills is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Duff rather than just go for the knockout.
Duff shoots in looking for a takedown. Mills tries to sprawl out of it but Duff keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mills manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Tony Duff has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Duff ducks right into an uppercut from Mills.
Duff misses with a straight right.
Mills tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Duff counters with a takedown into side control.
Duff working the strikes but Mills uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Duff wants to pass to mount but Mills is defending the position.
Duff wants to control but Mills is keeping him busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Duff throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Duff is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Mills reverses the position - he's now on top in Duff's guard.
Duff looking to control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mills tries to stand but Duff is controlling from the bottom.

Duff has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mills is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Duff.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tony Duff.
I think Mills has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
