PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Kravac (ranked 670 p4p, 99 weight class) and Onni Seppala (ranked 1532 p4p, 205 weight class). Samuel Kravac is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Samuel Kravac!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Onni Seppala!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kravac misses with a hook. Seppala ducked under it nicely.
Kravac looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Seppala throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kravac changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Kravac shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Seppala napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Seppala can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kravac slows the pace down.

Kravac is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Seppala knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Seppala is letting Kravac control him for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kravac trying to control the position but Seppala is working away.

Kravac is trying to move to mount but Seppala reverses beautifully and ends up in Kravac's guard.
Kravac is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kravac lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Kravac is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Seppala to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Seppala utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Kravac trying to control the position from guard on top but Seppala is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kravac slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kravac tries to free his leg and advance position but Seppala is retaining full guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Seppala looks to land a left hand but Kravac moved out of range nicely.
Seppala jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kravac misses with a wild body shot.
Kravac moves forwards but Seppala connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Seppala throws a lazy right hand but Kravac sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Seppala looks to throw the jab but Kravac is out of range.

Kravac gets a double leg takedown into Seppala's guard.
Kravac's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kravac controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Samuel Kravac will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Seppala misses with a straight right.
Kravac shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Seppala counters with a nice body shot.
Kravac takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Kravac shoots in and bounces Seppala off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Seppala can't keep his opponent in guard - Kravac advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Kravac seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Seppala does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kravac wants to free his trapped foot but Seppala is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Kravac thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Seppala's head.

Kravac seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Seppala does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Seppala on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Kravac wants to pass to mount but Seppala is defending the position.

Seppala felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Kravac slows the pace down in half guard.
Kravac is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Seppala!

Seppala tries to lock up and control but Kravac gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Kravac thowing shots but they're missing.

Kravac pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Seppala taking shots to the head.
Seppala is working to get back to half guard.
Kravac postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Seppala looks a forlorn figure.

Kravac working for a submission but Seppala is keeping him at bay.
Kravac has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Seppala's face.
Seppala really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kravac. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Seppala is squirming around, avoiding Kravac's attempts to control the action.

Kravac has hold of Seppala's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Seppala manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Kravac trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kravac looking to control and managing it successfully.
This has been an exciting period of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Samuel Kravac dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Seppala punishes Kravac's body with a nice straight punch.
Seppala throws a body punch but Kravac moves out of range.
Seppala avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kravac fails with a takedown attempt.
Seppala throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


It looks like Samuel Kravac has been cut.
Seppala swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Seppala is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kravac.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kravac tries to pull guard but Seppala forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Kravac prevents a body shot from Seppala.
Kravac has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Seppala avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Samuel Kravac. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Seppala tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Kravac is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Seppala can do to turn this around?

Kravac gets control of Seppala's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kravac will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Kravac has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kravac is looking to control Seppala's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kravac avoid being mounted?
Kravac tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Seppala has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Onni Seppala has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Onni Seppala comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kravac has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
