Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edward George (ranked 6226 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Williams (ranked 5327 p4p, 0 weight class). Patrick Williams has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Edward George's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Edward George!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patrick Williams!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams throws a head kick that misses.
George appears to be looking for a big counter.

George tries to sprawl but Williams drives through with a takedown into half guard.
George could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Williams working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Williams not doing much here.
George makes his way to full guard. A much better position for George.

Williams drops back, looking for a kneebar! George looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. George looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from George!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Williams is trying to control George's posture but George avoids it.

Williams looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
George tries to stand but Williams is controlling his head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams wants to control but George postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

George decides to stand back up. George steps back and let's Williams get back to his feet.

Williams shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Williams was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
George is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Williams looking to punish the body of his opponent here but George is avoiding damage well.

George is trying to control Williams's posture but Williams avoids it.

George sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
George has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Williams is working away from the top position though.
Williams wants to stand up but George has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Williams working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Williams wants to stand up but George has a hold of him and won't allow it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Williams wants to take a breather but George is having none of it.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Williams throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Williams not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Williams is trying to control the action in half guard but George is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Williams tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Williams shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches George napping and manages to drive through into side control!
George can't do much from the bottom here.

Williams decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Williams changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. George looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
George is trying to get back to half guard.
Williams trying to control the action but George is working from the bottom.

Williams scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at George to see if he's OK.

The ground and pound from Williams seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Williams tries to advance to mount but can't.

Williams has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Nice sprawl there from Williams as George shoots in.

George controls Williams momentarily but Williams frees himself.

Williams thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Williams stands up and waves to George to follow him.

Williams tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. George manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Williams throws a head kick that misses.
George changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Williams tries to avoid it but George manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Williams to the ground. Williams escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Williams gets caught napping as George dives in and scores a takedown. Williams manages to retain guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
George won't allow Williams to get back to his feet.
Williams has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Williams looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Williams controls George momentarily but George frees himself.

Williams looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! George has picked Williams up and slammed him! Williams can't keep hold of the triangle and George manages to pass to side control!
Williams looking for a sweep but George has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Williams wants to hold on but George pushes him away.

George looking to control and managing it successfully.

Williams is still trying to improve position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Williams is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Williams bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Patrick Williams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Williams feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Williams is stalling here. George is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Williams seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and George has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Williams is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but George has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Williams tries to buck George off but George is having none of it.
Williams trying to control but George flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

Williams tries to escape but George has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Williams is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
George trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Williams is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Williams trying to control the hands but George breaks the grip.
Williams tries to roll but George sticks to his back.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Williams is trying to stand back up.

Williams trying to control the action but George just sinks the hooks in.
Williams breaks George's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Williams slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Edward George.
Well Williams has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
