PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tom McGettigan (ranked 688 p4p, 100 weight class) and Borys Hund (ranked 3842 p4p, 442 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tom McGettigan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Borys Hund!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGettigan looks to land a left hand but Hund moved out of range nicely.
Hund keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McGettigan slips a jab and a cross from Hund.
McGettigan swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Hund dives in and grabs McGettigan's left leg, looking for a takedown. McGettigan pushes down on Hund's head and hops out.
McGettigan throws a nice looking combination but Hund bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Hund goes for a double leg but McGettigan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as McGettigan continues to drive forward.
McGettigan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hund.
Tom McGettigan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Borys Hund.
McGettigan lands a jab to the nose.
Hund looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hund defending well as McGettigan loads up on a big left hand.
McGettigan is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Hund looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A quick step to the side and McGettigan tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Hund is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hund looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McGettigan is fending him off so far but Hund persists. Nope, McGettigan circles away and we're back to standing.
McGettigan throws a shot to the body.

McGettigan misses the shot to the body.
Hund darts in looking for a takedown but McGettigan gets double underhooks and turns Hund into the cage.
A little feinted left hand from McGettigan on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
McGettigan throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Tom McGettigan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hund uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McGettigan.
and McGettigan counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Hund! He's just covering up as McGettigan starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tom McGettigan!
