Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Casey Flynn (ranked 7911 p4p, 530 weight class) and Perdue Willshire (ranked 24706 p4p, 581 weight class). Perdue Willshire has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Casey Flynn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Perdue Willshire!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Willshire darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Flynn is looking for a sweep. Willshire is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Willshire seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Willshire is taking a breather. Flynn says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Nice strikes from Willshire there.
Flynn wants to improve his position but Willshire is controlling well.
Flynn trying to control from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Flynn is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Willshire is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Flynn is looking for a sweep. Willshire is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Willshire looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Flynn with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Willshire has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Flynn is on him like a limpet, forcing Willshire back against the cage.

Willshire turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Willshire manages to end up in side control.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Flynn trying to control but Willshire flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Willshire lands punches and elbows.
Flynn breaks Willshire's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Willshire pushes Flynn off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

and Flynn counters with a left to the body.

and Willshire moves into the clinch.

Willshire gets caught flat footed, as Flynn shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Willshire pulls Flynn in close to prevent any damage.

Willshire is working an open guard so Flynn takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Flynn closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Willshire swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Willshire takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Flynn wants to clinch.
Flynn lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Flynn.
Casey Flynn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Flynn shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Flynn showed some decent athleticism there.

Flynn wants to clinch up but Willshire keeps it at a distance.

and Willshire counters with a single leg into guard. Flynn didn't expect that.
Willshire postures up and lands a big shot to Flynn's brow.
Willshire has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Willshire's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Willshire keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Flynn's head.

Flynn stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

and Willshire counters with a nice body shot.

Perdue Willshire showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Flynn manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Willshire on his heels. He'll look to pass Willshire's guard now, I'm sure.

Willshire is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Flynn presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Flynn has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Willshire has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Flynn off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Willshire manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Flynn keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Willshire takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Willshire with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Flynn misses with a jab, cross combination.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Flynn.
Flynn tries to clinch there but Willshire circles away.
Casey Flynn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Flynn moves in looking to clinch but Willshire pushes him off.
Willshire wants to counter with a clinch but Flynn pushes him away.

Flynn changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Willshire looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Flynn thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

I would just about give that final round to Perdue Willshire.
I've got Willshire winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
