The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lyons on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
A jab lands there for Diddlybottom.

Lyons throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Diddlybottom was covering up waiting for the punch and Lyons finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Diddlybottom manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lyons manages to get himself to full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Hannibal Lyons will probably get the nod.

Diddlybottom shoots in for a takedown but Lyons shows good takedown defense.
Lyons lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Diddlybottom gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Diddlybottom chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lyons can pounce on him.

Hannibal Lyons has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Milktoast Diddlybottom.
Diddlybottom throws a leg kick which misses Lyons's front leg but catches the back leg as Lyons tries to avoid it.
Diddlybottom throws a hook but Lyons avoids it easily.
Lyons went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Diddlybottom comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Diddlybottom feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Lyons's calf.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Diddlybottom connects with a good right hand that stumbles Lyons. Lyons circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Lyons cracks Diddlybottom with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Diddlybottom looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Lyons finish him?
Oh Lyons is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That has opened up Milktoast Diddlybottom's cut even more.
Lyons finds Diddlybottom's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Diddlybottom flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Lyons lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Diddlybottom will be OK.

After winning the bout, Hannibal Lyons thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
