Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Glen Snyder (ranked 24905 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doom Dog (ranked 6085 p4p, 0 weight class). Snyder has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Doom Dog has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Glen Snyder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Doom Dog!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dog shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Snyder manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Dog should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Snyder is breathing heavily.

Snyder looking for subs off his back but Dog has passed one foot through into half guard.
Dog content to control rather than advance.

Dog decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Snyder gets tackled into the cage by Dog. Dog maintains the clinch.

Dog has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Snyder uses from the top position.

Dog kicks Snyder off and gets to his feet.

Dog has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Snyder clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Dog controls the position.
Let's hope that Dog has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Dog throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Dog has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Snyder has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Dog controlling the position well here. Snyder rolled but Dog kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Will Dog go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Dog is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Snyder defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Dog is looking to control Snyder but Snyder is wriggling around and keeping busy.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dog working for a choke but Snyder is defending well.
Dog tries to get the hooks in deep but Snyder pushed the leg off.

Dog is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Dog is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Snyder up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Snyder throws his legs up looking for a submission but Dog uses it to pass to side control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Dog tries to move into full mount but can't pass Snyder's legs.
The strikes coming from Dog are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Snyder is not content to let Dog control the position.
Dog lands some shots froms side control.
Dog controls the position.
Snyder really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dog's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Snyder wants to control but Dog postures up.
Snyder is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Dog is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Dog decides to stand back up.

Dog darts in and clinches Snyder up against the cage.

Snyder changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dog fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Dog shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Snyder is looking to get back to is feet but Dog passes into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dog tries for a kimura but Snyder is defending well.
Dog is looking to take a break and control but Snyder is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Snyder can't do much from the bottom here.

Dog stands up.

Dog gets a double leg takedown into Snyder's guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Doom Dog showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Doom Dog seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dog has closed the distance and engaged Snyder in a clinch.

Still in half guard, Dog seems content to control.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dog in particular looking to stall.
Dog tries to pass the half guard into mount. Snyder knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Dog passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Snyder!

Dog looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Dog throws some wild stikes that Snyder manages to avoid easily.

Dog takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Dog looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Snyder covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
