The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood throws a quick inside leg kick.

Wood has Akwegbu pressed against the cage, preventing Akwegbu from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Wood is trying to drag Akwegbu to the mat but Akwegbu just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Wood drops down looking for an ankle pick but Akwegbu pulls his leg out and moves away.
Wood takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Akwegbu throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wood was covering up waiting for the punch and Akwegbu finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Akwegbu slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Akwegbu's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Akwegbu decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Wood throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Wood tries to keep at a distance but Akwegbu has taken the fight into the clinch.

Akwegbu has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Wood clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Akwegbu is punishing Wood with some ground and pound.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
