Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sugar Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Charles Hawtry!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawtry displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lee.
Lee with a poor takedown
and Hawtry counters with a nice uppercut.
Lee fails with the takedown
and Hawtry connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sugar Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hawtry let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Lee tries for a takedown but Hawtry circles away easily
and Hawtry counters with a right hand to the body.
Lee shoots and misses
and Lee takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


It looks like Sugar Lee has been cut.
Hawtry stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hawtry wants it to stay on the feet.
Lee shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Hawtry counter with a right hand.
Lee goes for a double leg but Hawtry avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hawtry continues to drive forward.

and Hawtry counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Hawtry is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Lee is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hawtry gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Lee is breathing heavily.
Lee has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hawtry avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lee is looking to take this one to the mat.

Lee is looking for a takedown.
Lee drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hawtry gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A nice left hand lands by Hawtry.
A left hand lands to the body for Hawtry.
Lee's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Hawtry digs a right hand into Lee's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Lee's gas tank.

Hawtry pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lee misses with a takedown attempt
and Hawtry counters with a straight right hand.

Hawtry drops Lee with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Lee looks back up at him and smiles so Hawtry waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Lee is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hawtry lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!
