Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kai Perkins (ranked 8373 p4p, 489 weight class) and Tyson Powers (ranked 23976 p4p, 509 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Perkins as Powers shoots in.
Powers on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Powers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Perkins lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Perkins will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Powers up against the cage.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Powers has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Perkins seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
