Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, RJ Rockford!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Leveille!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leveille tries to clinch but Rockford is having none of it.
Leveille looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Frank Leveille seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Leveille drives through and clinches with Rockford against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Leveille is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Leveille tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Leveille is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Rockford is keeping busy.

Rockford turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Rockford shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rockford was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rockford unloads with some shots from mount but Leveille bucks and avoids them well.

Rockford looking to control but Leveille is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Rockford throws some wild stikes that Leveille manages to avoid easily.
Rockford is landing with some decent strikes but Leveille is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Leveille can do anything to dispel that myth.
Leveille is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rockford throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Leveille tries to hold on but Rockford pushes him away.

Rockford wants to control but instead Leveille manages to regain half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Leveille instigates a clinch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rockford wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Leveille is trying to drag Rockford to the mat but Rockford just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Rockford has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Leveille regains guard immediately.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Leveille is on top in guard.
Leveille is looking to stand up but Rockford won't let him.
Rockford manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Leveille manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Rockford has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Leveille is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Rockford tries to keep at a distance but Leveille has taken the fight into the clinch.
Rockford is looking to control Leveille's arms but Leveille gets an underhook and turns him. Now Rockford has his back to the cage.
Leveille connects with a nasty looking knee right to Rockford's face.
Leveille tries for a takedown but Rockford manages to get underhooks.

Rockford is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Leveille can't fight it off and eventually Rockford manages to take the fight to the floor. Leveille looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Leveille pushes Rockford off and scrambles back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Leveille tries to clinch but Rockford moves out of range.

Leveille shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Leveille showed some decent athleticism there.
Leveille seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rockford does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Rockford tries to lock up and control but Leveille gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Leveille tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Leveille wants to control the pace but Rockford is squirming around nicely.

Despite being in the dominant position, Frank Leveille just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A solid leg kick lands there for Leveille.
