Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeramy Preston (ranked 24385 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Thomson (ranked 7269 p4p, 0 weight class). Alex Thomson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeramy Preston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex Thomson!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Preston tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Thomson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nice sprawl there from Preston as Thomson shoots in.
Preston leaves Thomson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Preston seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Jeramy Preston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Thomson.
Thomson misses with a body kick.
Preston shoots in but no luck this time.
Thomson wants to counter the offense by Preston and move into the clinch position.
Preston rushes Thomson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Preston tries to pull guard but Thomson forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Preston jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Thomson walks away with a smile on his face. Preston gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Preston blocks a head kick by Thomson.
Thomson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Preston counters with a three punch combo that has Thomson backing up. Thomson nods at Preston to acknowledge the strikes.
Thomson looks winded!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Preston fails with an attempt to clinch.
Preston tries to close the distance and clinch but Thomson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Thomson with a lazy takedown attempt
and Preston counters with a nice uppercut.
Thomson throws a lazy body kick
and Preston counters with a left and a right that stings Thomson.
Thomson feints a jab promting Preston to slip. Thomson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Preston slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Thomson swats away the attempt to clinch by Preston.
Preston closes this distance looking for a takedown but Thomson circles away.
Thomson closes the distance and clinches.
Preston is trying to push Thomson away but Thomson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Preston pulls guard successfully.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Thomson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Preston is trying to control the position but Thomson postures up.
Preston really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Thomson is posturing up here but Preston has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Thomson tries to roll out but it's too tight and Thomson has to tap! Slick submission there by Preston!
