The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chalmers shoots and misses
and Ferguson counters with a two punch combo.
Aaron Chalmers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Ferguson. No joy for Chalmers on that attempt.
Ferguson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A punch lands to the side of Ferguson 's head but he takes it in his stride.


It looks like Al Ferguson has been cut.
Chalmers fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

As Chalmers looks to move away, Ferguson throws a big counter combo but Chalmers just gets out of the way.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Chalmers wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ferguson has him pressed against the cage.

Chalmers is trying to drag Ferguson to the mat but Ferguson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Ferguson manages to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Chalmers is looking to pass into half guard but Ferguson pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Ferguson is in guard.

Chalmers trying to keep a closed guard but Ferguson is proving a slippery customer.
Ferguson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Ferguson is working Chalmers over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Ferguson is in close to Chalmers's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Ferguson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Ferguson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ferguson is working to tighten his grip on Chalmers's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Chalmers has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Ferguson is really squeezing tight and eventually Chalmers passes out! Ferguson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
