Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Bobby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephan Potvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stephan Potvin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Bobby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stephan Potvin!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Potvin or perhaps it was just good defense by Bobby which made him look bad.

Bobby clinches with his opponent.

Bobby escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Potvin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Potvin is on top in guard.

Potvin trying to control the position from guard on top but Bobby is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bobby trying to keep a closed guard but Potvin is proving a slippery customer.

Potvin is looking to stand up but Bobby won't let him.
Potvin wants to control from the top but Bobby keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Bobby counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Potvin's guard now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bobby is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Potvin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bobby is one step ahead there.
Bobby slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Bobby pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Potvin is keeping the position for now.
Potvin with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Bobby can't handle though.

Bobby tries to free his leg and advance position but Potvin is retaining full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Potvin tries to close the distance and clinch but Bobby swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bobby shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Potvin but Potvin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Bobby throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Potvin throws a nice looking combination but Bobby bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Bobby counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Bobby Bobby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephan Potvin.
Potvin looks gassed!
Bobby wants to pass the guard but Potvin is defending well.
Well, if Bobby is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Bobby postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Potvin to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Bobby dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Bobby rushes Potvin and presses him up against the cage.

Bobby gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Bobby is trying to control the action in half guard but Potvin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Bobby is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Bobby is pressing down on Potvin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Potvin is holding on for now.
Bobby throws a strike but Potvin avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Bobby might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Potvin controls Bobby momentarily but Bobby frees himself.
Bobby has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Bobby stops Potvin from standing up.
Bobby knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Potvin on the ground.

Bobby wants to get up but he can't break Potvin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Bobby clinches up with Potvin and pushes him back against the cage.

Bobby jumps guard and drags Potvin to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Potvin wants to get up but he can't break Bobby's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bobby not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Bobby is looking for a triangle but Potvin pushes his legs off easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

A head kick misses from Potvin.

Potvin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Bobby can't escape the position.
Potvin trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Potvin is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bobby can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Bobby is looking to get to half guard.
Bobby is working hard here to advance position.
Bobby throwing hammer fists to the chest of Potvin. What's that going to do exactly?

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bobby wants to hold on but Potvin pushes him away.

Potvin has hold of Bobby's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bobby manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Bobby on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bobby tries to get out of the position.
Potvin prevents Bobby from getting the reversal.
Bobby wants to control but Potvin is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Bobby dominated that second round.
That's time! Bobby's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Potvin wants to control but Bobby postures up.

Bobby wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Potvin, who protects the arm well.
Bobby lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Potvin down.
Bobby trying to control the position but Potvin is working away.
Potvin sneaks back into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Potvin tries to roll over but Bobby keeps him under control.
Bobby wants to get back to his feet.

Bobby is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Potvin is just riding it out for now. Bobby eventually gives up the hold.
Bobby looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Potvin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Bobby Bobby overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Potvin wants to get back to full guard.
Potvin is not content to let Bobby control the position.
Bobby thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Potvin's head.
Bobby seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Potvin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Potvin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Bobby shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bobby was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Well Bobby has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
