Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Smith!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots in but Flynn avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Smith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Flynn, pushing him back against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Flynn trying to control the position but instead, Smith has worked for underhooks and has pushed Flynn into the cage.
Flynn leaning against his opponent.

Flynn manages to break the clinch.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Flynn shows good takedown defense.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Flynn clinches up with Smith and pushes him back against the cage.

Flynn escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Smith throws the kick towards the body but Flynn avoids it.
Flynn tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Flynn wants to clinch up but Smith keeps it at a distance.
Smith tries to counter with a clinch but Flynn shakes him off and moves away.

Douglas Flynn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Smith.

Flynn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Flynn's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt - Flynn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Flynn shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Flynn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Smith wants to counter the offense by Flynn and move into the clinch position.

Flynn shoots in and bounces Smith off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Smith is looking to stand back up but Flynn counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Smith.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith is doing well to control the position and prevent Flynn from advancing to side control.

Flynn throwing shots but Smith is blocking nicely.
Smith is trying to maintain the position but Flynn is very close to passing his half guard.
Flynn missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Flynn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Flynn winds up and cracks Smith with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Flynn lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Smith kicks Flynn off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Flynn sprawls well. Flynn wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Flynn uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Smith.
Flynn doesn't manage to clinch there - Smith circles away.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Flynn shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Flynn counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Smith!
Smith is looking to get back to his feet here but Flynn is keeping cool and he's managed to take Smith's back.

Smith grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
Flynn lands shots from the back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Flynn biding his time, looking for the opening.
You can see the frustration on Smith's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Smith trying to control the action but Flynn just sinks the hooks in.

Flynn is punishing Smith with some ground and pound.
Flynn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Smith is trying to get back to his feet but Flynn has full control of the position and if anything, Smith has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Smith tries to escape the position.
Smith is breathing heavily.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Flynn controlling the positon.
Flynn tries to keep control of the position but Smith is staying busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Flynn lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Flynn tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Flynn closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Flynn has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Smith regains guard immediately.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Flynn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Smith working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Flynn doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Flynn manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Flynn loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Flynn slips a jab and a cross from Smith.
Smith takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Flynn wants to clinch up but Smith keeps it at a distance.

Flynn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smith's waist but Smith gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Flynn off to one side.

Smith tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Flynn defends well and Smith ends up having to push Flynn into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

As Smith tries to get set, Flynn tries to push him back and clinch up but Smith manages to avoid the attempt.
Smith swats away the attempt to clinch by Flynn.
Smith doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Smith avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Flynn tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Smith raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Flynn drives through with a takedown into guard.
Flynn lands a couple of digs.
Smith controls Flynn momentarily but Flynn frees himself.
Mark Smith has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Douglas Flynn is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Flynn throws a big elbow that misses.

I would just about give that final round to Mark Smith.
