The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Sears counters with a single leg into guard. JR didn't expect that.

JR wriggles free and stands up.
Sears really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Sears is looking to work some ground and pound but JR has wrist control.

Sears stands up from JR's guard - Sears perhaps looking for a knockout.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - JR has eaten all the pies!
JR swings for the body but Sears moves out of range.
Sears is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from JR.
JR misses with a combination

and Sears counters by moving into the clinch.

Sears pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
JR misses with a few strikes there.
As JR tries to get set, Sears tries to push him back and clinch up but JR manages to avoid the attempt.

JR throws a jab but it's blocked by Sears.

and Sears counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Sears is trying to work for a kimura but JR is defending well.
Sears content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
JR wants to control but Sears is keeping busy.
Sears seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Sears throwing shots but JR is blocking nicely.
Sears working over JR with some ground and pound. JR looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
JR really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sears. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
