Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Harold Haynes (ranked 24400 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edmond Tarverdyan (ranked 6433 p4p, 0 weight class). Tarverdyan has chosen I'm a beautiful queen! as his entrance music. Harold Haynes has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Haynes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tarverdyan is fending him off so far but Haynes persists. Nope, Tarverdyan circles away and we're back to standing.
Tarverdyan throws out a counter right but Haynes avoids it with no problem.

Tarverdyan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Haynes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

and Tarverdyan counters with a stiff right hand.

Haynes fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tarverdyan sprawls well initially but Haynes persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Haynes escapes and gets back to his feet.
Haynes shoots in looking for a takedown. Tarverdyan tries to sprawl out of it but Haynes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tarverdyan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Tarverdyan steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Haynes.

That was a close round but I would say that Harold Haynes will probably get the nod.

Tarverdyan tries a quick counter leg kick but Haynes is wise to it.

Haynes darts in looking for a takedown but Tarverdyan gets double underhooks and turns Haynes into the cage.
Tarverdyan was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Tarverdyan slaps away a takedown attempt from Haynes, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Haynes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tarverdyan tries to avoid it but Haynes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tarverdyan to the ground. Tarverdyan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Haynes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Tarverdyan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Haynes shoots in for a takedown but Tarverdyan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Tarverdyan steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.

Harold Haynes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Tarverdyan is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Haynes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tarverdyan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Edmond Tarverdyan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Haynes has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Tarverdyan clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Haynes has good solid back control here.

Haynes is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Tarverdyan has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Haynes has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Tarverdyan taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Haynes doesn't care though - he's delighted!
