Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Loyd Valentine (ranked 7095 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yago Monteiro (ranked 6077 p4p, 270 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Yago Monteiro was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Monteiro gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Valentine to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Monteiro wants to stand and escape but Valentine is having none of it.
Valentine loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Monteiro keeping moving, preventing Valentine from controlling successfully.
Monteiro looking to hit a scissor sweep but Valentine is one step ahead there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Monteiro shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Valentine eats them both and turns towards Monteiro to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Valentine takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Monteiro throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Valentine stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Valentine moves into the clinch successfully.
Valentine tries to pull guard but Monteiro forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Monteiro can't break the clinch.
Valentine jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Monteiro walks away with a smile on his face. Valentine gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Monteiro throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Valentine on the side of the head.
Good exchange - Monteiro coming out on top.
Valentine takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Valentine is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Monteiro lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!
