The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kwiecinski tries to close the distance and clinch but Jong swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Jong uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kwiecinski.

Jong closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
I was talking to Kwiecinski's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Jong.
Kwiecinski digs a right hand into Jong's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Jong's gas tank.

Jong has Kwiecinski pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Kwiecinski is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Jong - that's hurt Kwiecinski badly! Oh, another knee lands and Kwiecinski is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Kwiecinski doesn't seem to be complaining.
