Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Noah Jones (ranked 2027 p4p, 96 weight class) and Sunny Day (ranked 1709 p4p, 79 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Barrels of Whiskey. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Noah Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sunny Day!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day throws a sloppy head kick

so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Day is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well.
Day keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
Day is trying to keep Jones in close.
Jones stands up over Day, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Jones throwing strikes but missing.
Jones throws a big right hand that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Day working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Day is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Our spies down at at Holding Cell inform us that Day has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Day escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jones stands and throws Day's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Jones looks up at the clock and then as Day takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jones smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Day tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jones wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Day bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Day sprawls well. Day wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Day to score with a decent uppercut.
Jones dives in for a single leg takedown but Day sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Jones manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Day on his heels. He'll look to pass Day's guard now, I'm sure.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That was a close round but I would say that Noah Jones will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Day but Day pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Jones looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Day with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
