The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnston ducks under a wild hook from Roels.
Johnston has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
The fighters circling - Roels throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Johnston looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Roels throws an off balance right hand
and Johnston counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Johnston drops Roels with a left right combo! Johnston follows him down to the ground into side control.

Roels wants to get back to his feet but Johnston drags him back down.

Johnston throws an elbow but Roels slips to the side and avoids it well.

Johnston thows a huge punch but Roels dodges it nicely.
Roels keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Johnston wants to free his trapped foot but Roels is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

and Johnston counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Roels is breathing heavily.
Roels throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A slapping leg kick lands for Johnston.
Johnston has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
A telegraphed right hand from Johnston misses the target.
Roels shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Roels displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Johnston throws out the jab.

Johnston throws a big shot that misses.
Johnston throws the left hand but Roels avoids the punch easily.
Roels throws a body shot but no joy.
Johnston swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Roels throws a jab but it's blocked by Johnston.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Johnston cracks Roels with a good jab.
Roels loads up on a big right hand but Johnston slips the punch.
Roels throws a jab when Johnston was well out of range.
Johnston misses with a body shot.
Johnston keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Roels.
Johnston now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Roels, as that shot connected.
Johnston dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Roels has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Johnston finds it's way round the side to connect with Roels's head.
Johnston ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Roels takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Johnston fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Roels looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Johnston displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Roels throws out the jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Roels looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Johnston connects with a single shot there.

Roels misses with a hook
and Johnston counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks Roels badly! He tries to strike back but Johnston puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks Roels out cold! Oh man, Roels will never hear the end of this one!
