The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diamond Ii bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Majoron dodges the ground and pound from Diamond Ii.
Majoron is looking to reverse the position.
Majoron keeps trying to improve his position.
Diamond Ii postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Majoron tries to escape but Diamond Ii is in control.
Diamond Ii trying to control the position but Majoron is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Majoron tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Diamond Ii wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Diamond Ii wants to lay and pray for a moment but Majoron keeps working.

Diamond Ii knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Majoron on the ground.
Diamond Ii is taking a breather. Majoron says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Majoron is refusing to be controlled, as Diamond Ii sits in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Diamond Ii looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Majoron is fending him off so far but Diamond Ii persists. Nope, Majoron circles away and we're back to standing.

Diamond Ii defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Majoron.
Diamond Ii could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

and Majoron counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Diamond Ii!
Diamond Ii takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Diamond Ii is looking for a sweep.
Majoron remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Majoron gets to mount! Diamond Ii was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Majoron wants to stand but Diamond Ii is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
It looks like Majoron might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Diamond Ii is looking to improve his position but Majoron isn't that keen on the idea.

It looks like Maximo Diamond Ii has been cut.
No luck for Diamond Ii with that takedown attempt.
Maximo Diamond Ii is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Majoron fails to land with a series of punches.
Diamond Ii throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Majoron.

Majoron throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Diamond Ii was covering up waiting for the punch and Majoron finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Diamond Ii manages to escape and get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Diamond Ii darts in looking for a takedown but Majoron gets double underhooks and turns Diamond Ii into the cage.

Majoron has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Diamond Ii is defending well but eventually Majoron manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Diamond Ii has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
