Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Hudson (ranked 2754 p4p, 316 weight class) and Johnny Ringo (ranked 3826 p4p, 415 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jeff Hudson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Ringo!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ringo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ringo misses with a combination
letting Hudson counter with a right hand.
Ringo finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Hudson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Ringo scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Hudson drops his hands momentarily and Ringo takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Ringo throws a one two combo.
Hudson tries to bum rush Ringo with a series of wild strikes but Ringo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ringo fails to land with a series of punches.
Ringo misses with a series of wild punches.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ringo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hudson was well out of range. Poor timing from Ringo.
Hudson swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hudson.
As Hudson backs off Ringo throws a huge counter combo but Hudson manages to avoid it all.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ringo smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Hudson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ringo.

Hudson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ringo napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Ringo takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Ringo is trying to control Hudson's posture but Hudson avoids it.

Hudson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Ringo is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hudson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hudson is looking for a kimura here.
Ringo wants to get back to full guard.
Hudson tries to pass to full mount but Ringo defends it.

Hudson is trying to work for a kimura but Ringo is defending well.
Ringo controlling the position for now.

Hudson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ringo has managed to free his arm - good work.
Hudson wants to control but Ringo is keeping him busy.
Hudson wants to pass to mount but Ringo is defending the position.
Ringo told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Hudson stops Ringo from getting back to his feet.
Ringo works his way to full guard. Good work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hudson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hudson trying to control the position from guard on top but Ringo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Hudson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ringo scores with a shot to the body.
Hudson misses with the combination.
Hudson shoots for a double leg takedown but Ringo sprawls well. He's pushed Hudson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeff Hudson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hudson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Hudson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ringo.
Ringo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ringo stuffs the takedown attempt from Hudson. Hudson gets slowly back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Ringo dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ringo misses with a wild combination.
Hudson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ringo sprawls well. Ringo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hudson gets slowly back to his feet.
Ringo throws a head kick but Hudson moves out of range.
Johnny Ringo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ringo, as that shot connected.
Hudson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Ringo misses with a hook. Hudson ducked under it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hudson moves out of range of the body kick.
Hudson is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Ringo fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hudson on the side of the head.
Hudson moves out of range as Ringo strikes.
Hudson changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Ringo looks to throw the jab but Hudson is out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ringo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hudson.
Ringo scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Hudson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ringo throws out the jab.
Ringo's corner calls for a 1-2. Ringo obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.


Hudson is rocked!
Hudson walks straight into a right hand from Ringo - that's dropped him! Ringo jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Hudson from any more punishment! Hudson complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Johnny Ringo!
