The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jr Ii fails to land the takedown.
Horrible takedown attempt by Jr Ii or perhaps it was just good defense by Ashley, which made it look bad.

Ashley fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jr Ii, pushing him back against the cage.

Ashley works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Ashley with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Ashley works over Jr Ii with some ground and pound from guard.
Ashley distracts Jr Ii with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Jr Ii really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ashley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ashley slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Ashley postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Ashley distracts Jr Ii with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Jr Ii is rocked!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jr Ii can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ashley throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jr Ii works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Jr Ii is still in real trouble! Can Ashley finish him?

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ashley gets to his feet and stands over Jr Ii, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Jr Ii felt that one! Ashley unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Jr Ii from any more punishment!
