The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Holloway bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Holloway shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kruger tries to clinch but Holloway moves out of range.

Holloway fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kruger looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Holloway goes for a double leg but Kruger avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kruger continues to drive forward.

Kruger is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Holloway pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Kruger has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Holloway is working away from the top position though.

Kruger dives in and grabs Holloway's left leg, looking for a takedown. Holloway pushes down on Kruger's head and hops out.

Kruger pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Holloway is trying to pull guard but Kruger has him pressed against the cage.

Kruger ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kruger no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Kruger looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Holloway has picked Kruger up and slammed him! Kruger can't keep hold of the triangle and Holloway manages to pass to side control!

Kruger tries to clinch up but Holloway circles away and keeps his distance.
Holloway throws a big counter combination but Kruger scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Holloway fakes the leg kick and cracks Kruger in the body.

Holloway shoots in looking for a takedown. Kruger tries to sprawl out of it but Holloway keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kruger manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Kruger is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Holloway rather than just go for the knockout.

Kruger got a little sloppy there for a moment and Holloway has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kruger has managed to get both his arms back between Holloway's legs - danger averted.

Holloway has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Kruger has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Holloway goes for a takedown attempt but Kruger pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
