PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vyrkyx Dall (ranked 807 p4p, 104 weight class) and Tyler Durden (ranked 629 p4p, 77 weight class). Dall comes to the cage accompanied by The Worm. Durden is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Where Is My Mind. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vyrkyx Dall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyler Durden!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durden connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Durden tries a low kick but Dall avoids it.
Dall lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Dall bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Dall was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Dall dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Dall looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Dall tries to free his leg and advance position but Durden is retaining full guard.
Dall engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Durden keeping full guard, as Dall tries to pass.

Dall looking to sit in guard and control but Durden gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Dall is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Dall wants to sweep here but Durden controlling him for the moment.
Durden slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Dall wants to sweep but no luck.

Dall is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Durden is aware though and is defending well.
Dall manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Durden manages to get himself to full guard.

Dall looking to sit in guard and control but Durden gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Dall looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Durden has picked Dall up and slammed him! Dall can't keep hold of the triangle and Durden manages to pass to side control!
The referee asks Durden politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Durden prefers to stall for the moment though.
Dall tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Dall is working hard here to advance position.
Dall trying to control but Durden flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Durden is trying to stick to Dall's back but Dall is turning into Durden. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Durden's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Dall.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Durden is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dall trying to control the position from guard on top but Durden is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dall trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Durden controls Dall momentarily but Dall frees himself.
Dall wants to control from the top but Durden keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dall trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Durden is trying to keep Dall in close.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Dall stands and throws Durden's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Dall laying and praying for a moment but Durden takes advantage and regains half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Dall seems to be working for a kimura but Durden defends the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vyrkyx Dall dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Dall on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Durden. Durden obviously looking to wear him down.

Dall takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Durden lands the left hand.
Durden throws a hook but Dall avoids it easily.
Dall tries to counter with a takedown but Durden is quick to defend against it.

Dall throws a sloppy head kick and Durden moves out of range easily.

and Durden counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A punch lands to the side of Dall 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Dall on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Durden stuffs the takedown attempt from Dall. Dall gets slowly back to his feet.
Durden feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Dall's calf.
Dall looks to land a left hand but Durden moved out of range nicely.
Durden lands a jab to Dall's midsection.
Dall takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Nice straight punches there by Durden. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Durden.
Durden swings widly with a right hand
and Dall counters with a slapping leg kick.
Durden lands a leg kick that knocks Dall off balance momentarily.
Dall keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Durden.
Durden bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Nice uppercut lands for Durden. That snapped Dall's head back.

Dall feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Durden's calf.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
That kick from Durden tenderised Dall's leg. Dall is trying to keep his angry face on.
Durden scores with a punch to the head.
Durden connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Durden misses with a wild body shot.
Dall swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Durden lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Durden avoids the body shot from Dall.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Durden checks a leg kick.
Durden scores with a leg kick.
Durden darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Dall takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Durden scores with the left hand. Dall knows he should have avoided that one.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Durden throws a leg kick but Dall sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Dall takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Durden connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Tyler Durden seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Durden lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Durden cracks Dall with a right hand to the side of the head.
Durden finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
An inside leg kick lands from Durden.
A slow jab from Durden misses its intended target.
Durden throws a nice outside leg kick.
Durden lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Dall slips under a jab from Durden.
Dall throws out a leg kick but Durden moves out of range and Dall only half commits.
Durden is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Dall with a body shot.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dall.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vyrkyx Dall. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Durden lands a really nice looking cross but Dall seems unphased.
Dall jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Durden is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Dall with a body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Durden throws an off balance right hand
enabling Dall to counter with a crisp jab.
Durden's jab looks to have found its range, popping Dall under the eye.
Durden thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Dall if he has to take too many more of those.
Durden feints and then cracks Dall's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Dall down.
Dall takes one to the side of the head.
Durden throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dall sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Durden thumps Dall with a low kick.
Durden looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyler Durden showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Dall keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Durden.
Jab, jab by Durden - just one landing.
Durden scores with a leg kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Dall crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Durden - the referee stops the clock and Dall gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Durden. Dall manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Dall misses with a leg kick
and Durden connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Dall takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Durden takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Durden ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Dall's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Durden connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dall scrambles back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Durden throws a lazy right hand but Dall sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dall. Durden does a little dance to reset his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Durden throws a low kick but Dall moves out of range easily.
Dall steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Durden. That one must have hurt.
Nice straight punches there by Durden. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Durden.
Durden turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Durden misses the jab.
Dall avoids the body shot from Durden.
Durden throws an overhand right that lands on Dall's shoulder, as Dall tries to avoid the shot.
Durden ducks under a wild hook from Dall.
Dall fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Durden misses with a hook.
Durden lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Durden.
Dall shoots in for a takedown but Durden shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dall misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Durden.
A low kick from Durden misses
and Dall counters with a leg kick.
Dall throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Durden tests Dall's chin there with a solid looking shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Durden tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Durden takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Durden turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Dall is looking to wear down Durden with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Durden scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Durden scoring well with a low kick there.
Tyler Durden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed right hand from Dall misses the target.
A jab from Durden does it's job there.
Durden fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dall.

Dall moves out of range of the body kick.
Durden misses with a low kick.
A little feinted left hand from Dall on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Nice defenses there by Dall.
Dall tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Durden defends well and Dall ends up having to push Durden into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Durden displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dall throws out the jab.
Tyler Durden is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Durden feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Dalls jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
A head kick misses from Durden.
Durden has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Durden lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Dall has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Dall and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Durden misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dall.
Durden lands with a nice combination. Dall backs away looking to recover.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Durden throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Dall looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Durden misses with a lunging right hand
and Dall counters with a stiff right hand.
Durden lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Durden dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Durden misses with a head kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tyler Durden comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Durden has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
