The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vernon throws a one two combo.
Vernon scores with the left hand. Burner knows he should have avoided that one.
Nice body punch from Vernon.
Bobby Burner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sloppy strikes from Vernon. Those never looked like landing.
Burner tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

It looked like Vernon wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Vernon rushes Burner and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Burner changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Vernon fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Vernon ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Vernon lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Burner takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Vernon jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Burner throws a shot from downtown. Vernon moves away and avoids it.
Burner has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Burner there as he acknowledges the shot.

Burner is rocked!
Vernon is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Burner flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Burner is out cold! Vernon holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
