PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Jido Shoemaker (ranked 5834 p4p, 553 weight class) and James Kin (ranked 7714 p4p, 605 weight class). Shoemaker comes to the ring accompanied by Thunderstruck. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jido Shoemaker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Kin!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kin's coach down at Dynasty K-1 Dojo was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kin's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Kin throws a head kick but Shoemaker moves out of range.
Kin slips a straight right by Shoemaker.
Kin misses with a head kick.
Kin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Shoemaker.
Shoemaker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Kin throws out a head kick that Shoemaker doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Shoemaker crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Shoemaker's eyes and has decided to let it go on!


It looks like Jido Shoemaker has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kin throws a head kick that misses.
Kin misses with a head kick.
A head kick misses from Kin.
Kin tries a head kick but it misses.
Kin lands with a slapping head kick.


Shoemaker is rocked!
Kin checks the leg kick nicely there.
Oh Shoemaker is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shoemaker fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Shoemaker seems to have got his legs back now.
Kin throws a switch kick that catches Shoemaker on the top of the head and drops him to the canvas! Shoemaker looks hurt - I'm not sure he's going to get back up! The referee starts the count but calls it off at seven as Shoemaker flops around on the canvas, clearly in no position to continue! This fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). James Kin!
Jido Shoemaker spoke after the fight, saying 'The next Time'.
