The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Degas.
Bennett shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Degas is trying to defend but Bennett finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Degas is trying to escape back to his feet but Bennett uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Degas's coaches at Destroyer MMA have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Bennett has hold of Degas's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Degas tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Bennett cranks the arm and Degas screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Degas, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
