Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reinaldo Cox (ranked 8057 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Evela (ranked 5919 p4p, 0 weight class). Evela has chosen Face The Pain as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Don Evela enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Reinaldo Cox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Don Evela!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evela lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cox circles away quickly and effectively.

Evela throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cox was covering up waiting for the punch and Evela finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Evela is stalling in the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cox looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Cox wants to get back to his feet but Evela is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Evela trying to control the position from guard on top but Cox is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cox is looking to stand up but Evela isn't so interested in that idea.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Cox gets cracked there but stands up to it.


It looks like Reinaldo Cox has been cut.

Evela closes the distance and clinches.
Cox has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Cox's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Evela shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Evela showed some decent athleticism there.

Evela is trying to control. Cox wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Cox looks like he's trying to stand up.
Evela is nestled in close to Cox, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Cox manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Evela is trying to trip Cox. He has hold of a leg but Cox is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Evela persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Evela drops back looking for a leg! Cox is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cox manages to kick Evela off! Evela jumps back into Cox's guard.

Cox has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Evela has passed into side control.

Evela decides to stand back up. Evela steps back and let's Cox get back to his feet.

Cox shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Evela but Evela pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Evela shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cox is trying to defend but Evela finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Evela is keen to just control but Cox is a slippery customer.
Cox tries to kick Evela off but Evela keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Still in half guard, Evela seems content to control.
Evela has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Nice straight punches there by Evela. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Evela.

Evela tries to clinch there but Cox circles away.
Evela just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromCox.

Evela is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cox doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Evela.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cox wants to control but Evela is keeping busy.

Evela wants to clinch up but Cox keeps it at a distance.

Cox shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Evela's guard.

Well Evela has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Don Evela rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
